InternDIVA: Fan di FENDI’s Newest Fan

Let me start out by saying that I have been wearing the same perfume since the eighth grade (how is it even possible that that was 8 years ago?!). I’m typically drawn to vanilla-based perfumes because I find them comfortable and homey – they relax me. I tend to steer clear of floral scents that can sometimes bring back memories of my grandma’s test perfume bottles I collected as a kid. I had an extensive collection, let me tell you!

This week, however, I decided to branch out from my eight year perfume streak and try FENDI’s new limited addition scent: Fan di FENDI Blossom.

I tested the travel sized version of the fragrance and I have to say that for its size, the design is adorable! It’s about the width of a Maybelline lipstick and the height of a quarter. Perfect for a carry-on bag or just tucked into your purse.

When testing a new perfume, I always try to remember not to take the first whiff at face value. Perfume always smells different after a minute or so once it settles on your skin and mixes with the air. Of course, I couldn’t help myself and sniffed right away…typical.

My first thought, having been used to only one scent for nearly a decade:  “OMG, way too floral for me.” (I mean the name of the fragrance is Blossom!)

However, after about thirty seconds the smell relaxed and actually is incredibly b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. It reminds me of what I imagine relaxation would smell like in the spring, which is fitting since the fragrance made its debut in Summer 2014.

It’s soft, elegant and not too overwhelming, like the moment you first smell the scent of a candle after you light it. I picture myself lounging in a meadow (something along the lines of Bella and Edward’s meadow naturally). Acting like Rory Gilmore, nose in a book, laying in the sunshine. A soft breeze carries the smell of a flower towards me — which flower, I’m not sure… but I’d like to find out.

As FENDI describe the scent, “in the opening notes you discover a sophisticated touch of Japanese pear and raspberry. The heart of the fragrance is classy and natural, presenting a fine scent of cherry blossom and a play of Egyptian jasmine with Chinese magnolia set on a divine and gently powdery dry down of musk and vanilla.”

That’s a lot of adjectives, but I swear if you smell the scent you’ll understand them.

When I was looking up more about the fragrance I found this behind-the-scenes, making-of-the-scent video on the FENDI website! I think it fits the perfume perfectly!

You can find the full sized bottle of FENDI’s Blossom here! I’ve officially put it on my Christmas list!

SO, give it a try and let me know, are you a fan of Fan di FENDI Blossom?!

Enjoy DIVAs!
