Foundation has never really been my “thing”. I tend to always assume the worst for my skin (AKA unnecessary, major break outs), which only resulted in me steering clear of such products. However, I’ve recently discovered Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation and I’m happy to say I’m a major fan.

After reading my fellow DIVA Lexi’s take on the foundation (check out her super-bomb blog Lattes & Lipsticks by Lexi! You won’t regret it ◠‿◠) I figured the Fix Fluid had to be something special. Additionally, my roommate Kalli has been using this foundation foreverrrr and only had great things to say about it. With Kal always maintaining a flawless complexion, my curiosity behind this ~*magical*~ formula was only growing. A few weeks ago, she thoughtfully #blessed my skin with a touch of the foundation, and I think it’s safe to say it was love at first blend.

The hype behind Mac’s Studio Fix Fluid Foundation is nothing less than accurate. The foundation contains specially treated micronized pigments and soft-focus powders for a super-smooth look that helps minimize the appearance of imperfections. Basically, any and every ailment you’re looking to hide is erased (literally) with the full-coverage formula. In addition, the foundation absorbs and disperses oil. You can say adios to that unwanted shine (that I know FAR too well…).

I personally try to avoid using this foundation everyday because…

1. I’m trying to silence the foundation addiction I can feel creeping up on me because this stuff is MAGIC.
2. I’m all about letting the skin ~~~breathe~~~

But seriously… All jokes aside, this foundation is amazing. I’m able to maintain a flawless, matte (praising-hands emoji) complexion for up to 8 hours. Yes, you heard correctly — EIGHT. HOURS.

I only use a little bit at a time, but that’s really all you need. After all, a cakey/clay-like complexion will never do a soul justice. Though everyone’s skin is different and reacts differently to certain products, this foundation has agreed really well with my skin. So if you have uber-sensitive skin like I do, and are looking to experiment with a foundation, I say give this one a shot!
