InternDIVA: Michael DePaulo FW15

“I was inspired by this new power movement with today’s women”, says DePaulo when describing his F/W 2015 collection. The line has no overall theme, as each piece is strong enough to stand on its own, but together they translate the emotional meaning behind the collection as a whole.

FASHION

Whether it was a black and white appliquéd ball gown, or a metallic black dress protected by a leather basket weave armor neckline, or even a wool gown with mesh inset – every gown or dress was a showstopper.

The color scheme was holiday-esque, consisting of bright reds and greens and white + black pairings – embellished with a touch of complementary-colored sequins. The collection embodied pure modern elegance.

“To me, fashion is armor. It protects and speaks to a woman’s self-identity”, DePaulo explains.Every dress was like a work of art and unique to the human eye, just as women are in today’s feminist society.

ACCESSORIES by Chic To Chic

A highly curated array of accessories was sprinkled amongst the entire collection.  Each model boasted her own pair of white diamond, champagne gold, or opal drop earrings, while a select few wore something a little more extraordinary.

Larger accessories gave less decorated pieces high drama, such as this bright red A-line dress paired with a 14-carat gold waistline belt.

MAKEUP by Christo for Liftlab and Foreo

Models were first prepped with Vaseline Intensive Spray Moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and protected from the cold temperature.

For makeup, a rusty red smokey eye was accompanied by natural eyebrows, a growing trend for this season. A peach flush to the cheekbones complemented the dewy skin, allowing bold merlot lips to become the center focus of the makeup look.

HAIR by Caravan Stylist Studio for Not Your Mother’s

Hair was kept sleek and simple – pin-straight with a middle part. A light sheen was brought to the hair using Not Your Mother’s Smooth Moves Control Cream and Miss Freeze Hairspray.

NAILS by Color Club

Color Club’s Killer Curves delivered a royal, oxblood red nail, which conveyed a regal feminine touch.
