Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm: After Shave or Makeup Primer?

Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm: After Shave or Makeup Primer?

A few weeks ago, one of my roommates was raving about Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm being the next big thing for makeup primers. My initial reaction? Confused to say the least. HOWEVER, after putting my trust in my dear friend and doing a little experimenting, I am here to confirm that Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm is indeed the best make up primer I have used to this day.

How did Miss Kalliopi discover this magical formula?

After watching Nikkie Tutorials April Hits 2015 + a little side research, Kalli found glycerine is the second most used ingredient in the balm — *a little background info* glycerine enables whatever you apply on top of it to cling. Therefore, foundation, bronzer, shadow, etc. stays on beautifully for long periods of time.

This product has been great for the times I really want (and basically need) my make up to hold up flawlessly for hours. A perfect occasion to really put this balm to the test was my graduation day. Attending school in upstate New York, it seemed fitting that it was completely muggy, rainy and sticky the day of commencement. While I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the weather, I had great trust that the post shave balm wouldn’t let me down.

Although there is that “after-shave” scent, it fades reasonably fast. The consistency is super liquid-y and has a cooling-affect on the skin, but I find both to almost be refreshing.

After prepping my skin (wash/moisturize), I apply a decent amount of the product to my face and rub until the consistency becomes tacky. Giving the product a few seconds to air-dry, I then apply my makeup of choice.

The balm creates such a smooth canvas for my skin, which allows my make up to apply much more evenly.

Regardless of the weather conditions and constant moving activities, my makeup stayed strong all day… Literally. I was even able to take a small nap before dinner reservations and woke up looking like I had just done my make up 10 minutes prior. This balm is B A E.

I highly highly recommend this post shave balm to anyone who’s looking for a quality, long-lasting primer. Did I mention it’s only $5.59…? Yeah, #amazing. This balm is unbelievably cheap and truly the real deal.

My make up looks forever flawless and this balm has also helped to fight that facial shine that no one has time for.

With the summer months right at our fingertips, this balm will DEF be a life saver!

XO
