MICHELLE WEISS | Intervals & Interviews

Before I dive into the All About Me, there are some things I’d like to share with you: I’m obsessed with pugs (really, though), I eat pasta every day, I love pink and my passion for fashion is what brought me to New York.

Let’s switch gears…“5, 6, 7, 8!”

These are four numbers that consumed my childhood, through to middle school and well into high school. When I wasn’t hitting the books, attending piano lessons, thumbing through the pages of Elle or writing in my journal, I was pirouetting across the floor and trying to perfect the art of the fouetté. There was even a time in my life when I was taking 15 dance classes a week – which mostly consisted of ballet, jazz, lyrical and even a little hip hop. I later dabbled in cheerleading and Pilates, but dancing was, and still is, something that will always be the ultimate release for me.

In the summer of 2008, I graduated from high school and moved to Tucson in the fall to attend the University of Arizona. Dancing came to a bit of a halt, but I still managed to squeeze in a class every now and then – and I later began practicing yoga. From an early age, I was also passionate about writing and fashion. By the time college rolled around, I wanted to make a career of the two. It became my number one goal to fly to the Big Apple and work for one of the major glossies.

In 2012, I was selected as the summer beauty intern for Prevention magazine, where I contributed beauty blog posts and wrote a Prevention.com homepage story, 10 Celebrities Who Refuse to Fix Their ‘Flaws.’ I was thrilled to say the least. This was my introduction into the beauty world.

I graduated in 2013 with a double Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Studio Art (with a photography focus) and earned the University of Arizona Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in Journalism for three consecutive years.

I now work full-time at the M∙A∙C Cosmetics corporate headquarters in Global Artist Training & Development. I love the fact that I’m in the beauty industry and still have the opportunity to write during my free time. I’m especially excited for my latest endeavor with DIVAlicious, which will be to focus my energy on fitness posts and in-depth personal profiles. I look forward to sharing my journey with you, from intervals to interviews!
