The Lettuces: Mother’s Day

The Lettuces: Mother’s Day

937 days of being a mama to my little boy. 171 days of growing my little girl.

Some days we can’t wait to finally make it to bath and bedtime (when we all pass out!).

And some days I want to last forever — to remember forever — as they slip through my fingertips and one day probably my memory too.

Now more than ever, time stands still… but days blur… and months roll by. My little boy isn’t so little anymore.

I’m so proud of all that he is and all that he is now able to do. I love his personality shining through. I love the way he now sings me our songs and ‘reads’ me his books. Love his sense of humor. His creative, intelligent mind.

I know we’ll never have these days again. Not only of us all at home. But of him being small. Being my best friend. Wanting mama mama mama all day for cuddles and kisses and hugs and encouragement and silly time and play time and story time and snuggle time.

That while we wish it all away. To be back to normal. When normal comes, it will never be just like this anymore. We’ll never get the time back. He’ll be even bigger. And by summer’s end, not an only child. No longer and never again just the three of us.

I am excited for the future while trying not to hurry the now to get to it.
