Cellophane is becoming a big word in beauty and the major cellophane eye trend for Fall/Winter 2013 is right around the corner. Until then, Estee Lauder gives us cellophane lips and cheeks via Cello Shots in unapologetically happy and feminine shades. A sharp contrast to the edgy, grungy and mostly clear cellophane interpretation just a season away.
For this review, I played with the lipstick, if you can even call it that.
Cello Shots Pure Color Lip Shine is sheer, bouncy lipcolor in punchy summer shades. It glides on and looks like a coat of colored cellophane smoothed over your pout.
If you love Maybelline Color Whisper (how can you not?!) you will LOVE these Lauder Lip Shines. They are similar in comfort and finish with a touch more color. (The swatch below details Estee Lauder Cello Shots Pure Color Lip Shine in X-Pose Rose sandwiched between Maybelline Color Whisper in Cherry on Top and Mad for Magenta.)
With shades like Poppy Shock and Pink Patent, Cello Shot Lip Shines are sure to please.
Here I am wearing X-Pose Rose, down in Florida where a “rush of bright, cellophane-sheer color for your lips in radiant, see-through hues” is practically mandatory.
PRO TIP: I also love these lippies to create a subtle summer ombre look where the lips are outlined in bright pencil in the same color family then blended into this lipcolor worn in the center. SO FUN!
Estee Lauder Pure Color Lip Shine is available in 6 shades for $26 each.
