Before you lay down that colored cat-eye or sultry smoky eye… before you strategically conceal your I’ve-been-up-all-night-and-it-shows undereye area… before you rock that orange or purple lip trend…… before any and all of it, heed this advice, divas:
PREP BEFORE YOU PAINT.
It really can make all the difference. Yes, it’s an extra step in your beauty routine – but it’s quick and painless and the payoff is worth it’s weight in your time and effort.
So without further adieu, here are THREE PREP STEPS FOR BETTER MAKEUP.
1. SKINDINAVIA MAKEUP PRIMER SPRAY. Mist your face with this silicone-free, oil-free, paraben-free primer ($35 for 4 oz. and $49 for 8 oz.) before you start your handiwork. It will help makeup stay on and in place longer while also keeping it from settling into lines. The spray feels refreshing on skin and in the time it takes to give yourself a pump or two, you’re fully primed. You can also spritz your brushes before picking up and depositing color for an even application. Easy breezy!
2. CLARINS INSTANT SMOOTH LINE PERFECTING CONCENTRATE. To keep concealer from sneaking into any facial lines or wrinkles, plump them up first with this smoothing, anti-aging serum ($35). Takes two seconds and even better, you can toss the pen in your bag and retouch with the concentrate throughout the day without disturbing your makeup. Just pat it on wherever needed, most often around the eyes, nose and lips. And viola! Silky smooth.
3. BITE AGAVE LIP MASK IN CHAMPAGNE. Now available in a gorgeous shimmery rose gold shade, this leave-on daily lip mask ($26) heals and softens. Essential prior to any bold lip shade or any matte lip finish. Can you say #nochappedlips?? The treatment is paraben-free, sulfate-free, petro-chemicals free and also gluten-free. It’s made with organic agave plus lanolin, vanilla extract, jojoba oil and more to ensure your lips are soft and supple. And it even smells and tastes great. Apply it for insta-hydration during the day or, my preference, as part of your bedtime routine.
