Introducing new column DIVA DOES, where we will be pulling looks from runways, magazine covers, editorial spreads, ad campaigns, red carpets and beyond and — of course — reinterpreting them the DIVAlicious way.
In this first installment, I recreate a runway beauty look from Spring 2014 on Miss Christina Bambina.
We were mesmerized by this metallic vision at Jill Stuart (above) and wanted to see how to make it more wearable. (HINT: Lots of blending.)
Using this palette in Berlin from Kryolan, we layered on shimmery rather than full-on metallic shades. We went from the lightest shimmers in the inner corner to the darkest mattes in the outer corner.
Here’s the before, with simple base makeup…
And the after, with some diva attitude…
Still a dramatic and captivating beauty look, just not as intense.
NOTE: Divas also have fun — because a makeup playdate is never all that serious — so enjoy these outtakes!
And PS: Consider the comments section a virtual suggestion box and definitely let us know if there’s a beauty look you’d like us to recreate.

Awwww. Thanks lady!!! Need you back in my chair for a look pronto. XO
I wanna try this! I always go for the brown/gold/neutrals on my eyelids. But a gray could be a fun change :) Love this.

Absolutely! Gunmetals are a great neutral to play with, very versatile. You can mix in warmer colors if you like too. XOLC
