Sixties makeup is iconic and it’s popularity is back as a fall makeup trend. I love trying new looks and had to recreate it. Divas, this look is definitely different from your basic eye look! So if you also want to step into the makeup time machine, get your brushes ready!
Using an angled brush, place a brown eyeshadow into your crease.
Blend the shadow up, stopping right below your brow bone.
With an eyeshadow brush, apply the eyeshadow Center Stage over your lid from lashline to crease.
I love this eyeshadow! It is a great neutral shade featured in bareMinerals “In the Spotlight” collection.
Center Stage should be placed below that line we created with the brown shadow.
Go ahead and create a bold liner. Divas from the sixties were obsessed with winged liner, so I winged my liner out for this look.
I used my new fave NYX liquid liner to create the wing. This liner has a very thin brush for precise application.
Add some lashes if you’re feeling divalicious!
I want extra glam so I’m wearing Kiss #11 lashes. These falsies are fun and flirty– perfect for this eye look!
Use a white eyeliner to line your waterline.
I’m using NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk. Sixties divas loved the wide eye look so using the white eyeliner will definitely do the job of making our eyes appear larger.
Go ahead and apply your favorite mascara to top and bottom lashes.
Make sure to do 2-3 extra coats of mascara on the bottom lashes. Sixties makeup really emphasized the bottom lashes, so adding the extra coats will make them more pronounced. To also help with creating the wide baby doll eyes, use a tweezer to pinch your lashes together. This will give us those spiky bottom lashes sixties eye looks were famous for.
Those lashes are fierce!
Now that our eyes are done, apply a rosy pink blush to your cheeks.
I’m using Nars Mata Hari blush.
To give our lips the sixties vibe, apply a nude lipstick.
I’m wearing e.l.f lipstick in Fantasy. Wearing a nude lipstick will keep the focus on our amazing eye look.
To complete your look, wear sixties inspired clothing or accessories. My earrings are from my local Aldo accessory store.
And this is our complete look!
This makeup is also versatile — you can transform it into a Halloween look — perfect for any of you divas that are having trouble with finding a look for halloween.
To amp up the look for Halloween, apply individual lashes to your bottom lashes. This will make the look more exaggerated and very Halloween appropriate!
Our sixties look is too fierce for staying at home, so make sure to rock your look out and about!
See you soon divas!
