I’ve only recently started taking better care of and paying more attention to my skin – making sure to take off all of my makeup each night, moisturizing, and doing my best to wash my face twice a day.
Prior to this, I had a five year relationship with the acne treatment we all know (and love?), Proactiv. While I must admit, Proactiv DID help when my acne was at its worst, after growing out of puberty it became too harsh on my skin, leaving my face dry and itchy especially during the winter months.
Simple Skincare Foaming Cleanser
I’ve since been looking for a new cleanser and was excited to test one for the site in hopes it would be a good fit for me.
Lauren supplied one from Simple, a brand that prides itself on no added dyes, artificial perfumes, or harsh irritants – so their products are safe for those with sensitive skin as well.
While my skin isn’t extremely sensitive, if a face wash is even a little bit drying, I feel it right away – in that tight, uncomfortable, inelastic sense.
One pump of Simple Skincare Foaming Cleanser
This was my first time using a foaming cleanser, and I must say it ain’t too shabby! I’m OCD in the sense that I hate using too much of a product, so I tend to apply little by little (even face wash). However, the recommended two pumps of foam was just enough for a thorough wash!
As for the formula itself, I had no irritation and no discomfort using the cleanser.
Because of my previous experiences with different kinds of face wash, I expected to feel some sort of sensation while using the cleanser: tingling, cooling… Instead, it felt like I was just washing my face with (a non-drying) soap! Which can be a good thing for those who don’t like that lingering effect some face washes leave.
This cleanser certainly does its job. I had barely any leftover makeup residue on my face after using the cleanser, which I LOVE (stubborn make-up is my frenemy). The formula isn’t too drying, although I do always use moisturizer right after washing my face. I felt refreshed and clean afterward.
Personally, though, I do want that tingling and cooling sensation after washing my face. So while this product was very gentle, I will be on the lookout for something less mild.
Overall, I would recommend this cleanser for someone who is looking for a refreshing daily face wash and doesn’t have to worry about other skin problems such as acne. Since this is a very mild formula, I would also recommend this to those with sensitive skin who have trouble finding a face wash that isn’t irritating!
