I would have been (and will be!) overjoyed with any healthy baby, boy or girl.
Truly deeply.
But when we found out we were having a girl, after initially feeling very excited (it all became so real), I also felt… something else… a twinge of guilt?
I feel so identified as a boy mom.
And I am constantly amazed every day by how special and awesome my mother-son relationship is. We are so sooo bonded. I can’t imagine anything else.
💙
But children are not their genders, they are individuals.
So I’m getting excited to build a unique relationship with the little individual growing (and kicking and flipping and rolling) in my belly, whoever she chooses to be.
And to see Javi as a big brother.
And yes, to start shopping for little dresses and rompers, and hair turbans and tutus, and all the leopard.
