The Best Lippies for Fall 2014

The Best Lippies for Fall 2014

Fall is finally here!! It’s my favorite season because it not only includes the ever-famous Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks, but fall statement lips are always so much fun to play around with.

Here are my top 5 choices for the perfect fall lippy:

(From Left to Right), OCC Lip Tar in TechnopagenMaybelline ColorSensational in Truffle TeaseMAC Pros Lipstick in Smoked PurpleMAC Lipstick in Brave Red and Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Motorhead.

OCC Lip Tar in Technopagen is a blackened purple with blue pearl metallic finish. It’s super easy to apply with the lip brush provided with the tube. It’s super dark and a little goes a long way when applying this lippy! It’s a stunner for making a bold statement on the fall “runways”, i.e. the city streets of NYC! Don’t be intimidated by this shade. It’s fun to try a new look every once and a while :)

Maybelline ColorSensational in Truffle Tease is a creamy light-medium, peach-beige with a warm side and it’s the perfect nude for fall! The brown-ish “90’s shade” is definitely in for the season and I reco wearing it with a contoured cheekbone, some heavy lash action and a smoky eye.

MAC Pros Lipstick in Smoked Purple is a deep matte purple with red undertones. It’s traditional enough in color for the semi-conservative lipstick wearer to try and has the staying power of a regular matte lippy. I call it a ‘purple haze’ because it leaves the lips a bit ‘blurred’ but I find the subtleness playful and a nice complement for fall.

MAC Lipstick in Brave Red is a bright, yellow-red with a creamsheen finish that looks a bit glossy. It reminds me of a ‘candy apple’ red, so it couldn’t be better suited for the season! It wears like a stain and can be dressed up with a light smoke eye or dressed down with some bold lash action! It’s bold, saturated color but still sweetly innocent!

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Motorhead is a matte black cherry that just screams “bad-ass.” It’s extremely pigmented and stains beautifully. This is my go-to color for fall because it’s darker than the usual berry but lighter than my black shades. I usually pair mine with minimal cheek contouring, black eyeliner and a strong black lash.

From matte to glossy, cosmic blue to peachy nude, why not dip your lips into the great shades of fall?!
