THE DISH WITH DDR: Top 5 Bridal Beauty Must-Haves

Are those wedding bells I hear?

Tis the season to tie the knot!

Get beautified and stay gorge all throughout your wedding day (and night!) with my bridal beauty tips…

#1 – Get Primed:  Primer is key.  Make sure before applying a stitch of makeup, skin is well-moisturized.  After moisturizing, use a primer like Laura Mercier’s Foundation Primer (a personal pro kit fave of mine!). Choose the best one for your skin type. The primer will help your makeup go on smoother and last longer. You’ll look fresh from I Do til the last dance!

#2 – Get Proofed: Be sure all products are water- and smudge-proof if you’re concerned that you will cry or sweat on your wedding day. Trust me, most brides do.

#3 – Get Set: Don’t forget to set makeup. After your bridal beauty look is complete, spritz on Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Spray. It will help minimize shine and help makeup stay in place throughout the night.

#4 – Go Faux: Don’t be afraid of fake lashes. I suggest trying them at your makeup trial and wearing them for a bit to get used to them before the big day. For newbies, it might be a… different… feel. The payoff makes them worth it!  Fake lashes will draw attention to your eyes, making them more captivating in pictures and in real life.

[LDIVA Editor’s Note: If false strips scare you, start with individuals or clusters. Alternatively, you may want to consider lash extensions, which would also be amazing for the honeymoon.]

#5 – Lift off: These are a MUST, especially for brides getting married in the warmer months! Instead of adding powder over powder over powder (which can be aging and/or look cakey), keep your skin oil-free all day by gently pressing and lifting these blotting papers. I recommend Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets.
