Stepping away from the world of skincare for a sec, it was a must that I share my current haircare obsession. I am absolutely lovinggggg Not Your Mother’s hair products for styling. Whether I’m looking to rock VS-like waves, or simply add some much needed volume, Not Your Mother’s has fulfilled all of my hairstyling dreams.
The three NYM products I’ve been fan-girling over are the Plump for Joy Thickening Hair Lifter, Way to Grow Leave-In Conditioner and Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray.

Depending on the day/occasion, I’ll tend to mix & max the products to achieve a specific look. The Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray is great for a quick and easy everyday look. This sea salt spray adds a sexy, tousled, natural wave to your hair, in addition to a lite matte finish to any hair type. You can mist generously to wet or dry hair, however I have found the best results to be with damp hair. The texture and separation it adds to your hair is also great for holding curls and top-knots.

Though I have relatively thick hair, it unfortunately tends to fall flat more often than not. With the Plump for Joy Thickening Spray, I can turn my dreams of natural hair volume into reality. The salon formula works to thicken and strengthen your hair, adding body, shine and VOLUME! After rubbing the product into the palms of my hands, I work the spray from the ends of my hair to the roots. This too can be applied to wet or dry hair, and again, I have found the best results applying the spray to my hair when it’s damp/wet.

The Way to Grow Leave-In Conditioner is hands down my favorite! This leave-in conditioner has been proven to not only help your hair to grow stronger and faster, but I’ve also found it’s amazing for styling. While I’m definitely not complaining about my hair type, having silky hair can be difficult when it comes to styling/holding. This treatment leaves my hair thick, voluminous and holds curls/waves great. Similar to the sea salt spray, it creates a natural wave in my hair (which I loooove).
NYM products are not only:
- gluten-free
- made without animal byproducts or ingredients (vegan)
- not tested on animals (cruelty-free)
but they’re also insanely affordable. I’ve been able to achieve some serious hair goal results on my own using NYM products.
From Walgreens to CVS, Not Your Mother’s can be found at your local drug stores for around $7 – $9.
