In honor of Soho stylists Yoni Kreger and Yaniv Levy of Y Gallery Salon celebrating their 10 year anniversary as business partners, I got a 10 minute trim by Yaniv himself.
I popped by their salon on 180 Lafayette Street for a quick wash and haircut followed by a phenom blowout. Y Gallery is conveniently located next to my old Nolita neighborhood (giving me permission to peruse all my favorite local shops).
Yaniv suggested a major transformation just in time for spring and we briefly considered a lob (long bob). I’m kind of dead set on learning how to create a red carpet faux lob with longer locks though, so instead we went with fun piece-y layers around the face that could be blown into a cascading style with waves, or worn edgy and shaggy when straightened, or styled as a side-swept bang with a deep part.
Gotta love options.

Yoni and Yaniv stay balanced as a team with Yoni mastering the geometric and architectural side of hair (clean lines, consideration of facial features) and Yaniv finding inspiration from the more creative elements (inspired by visual arts). Yaniv believes that “hair is an art” that in part creates confidence and in part, your style. It also “keeps growing” so you can evolve and try new things.
