DIVA DOES… DIVAlicious x fabuLATINA, Take 2

DIVA DOES… DIVAlicious x fabuLATINA, Take 2

One of the main reasons I live for spring/summer is the color palette. I love storing away the blacks and greys and neutrals and in their place, shocking my closet and my beauty vanity with pinks and corals and violets and teals. So when the fab Nashelly Messina of appropriately-titled FabuLATINA and I decided to do a summertime beauty/fashion collaboration on our blogs, I knew it would be infused with rich, vivid color. No surprise, neither of us shies from bold shades.

Last Friday, Nash revealed 3 chic outfits I could wear based on 1 summertime staple. In case you missed it, CLICK HERE! It’s all about maximizing wardrobe options and minimizing luggage space, especially for those final summer vacations and weekend trips.

Today, I’m revealing the day-to-night beauty looks I created for her, using a palette of caribbean blues on the eyes and peaches and cream on the lips. I hope it inspires you to play with color before the season is over. When applied right, I promise it won’t look crayola (or just plain cray) but rather, super-glam. Ooooh la la.

THE PALETTE

THE DAY LOOK

We started with a fresh face, evened out by a touch of foundation and concealer. To recreate the look, use a foundation that matches your skintone in a finish you desire.

I subtly sculpted Nash’s face by mapping out her contour lines, then buffing them. Suprise! I actually use a waxy blendable eyebrow pencil by IT Cosmetics for this! Here I used Auburn but if you are cooler-toned you can try Universal Taupe.

I dusted the champagne shade from the Lancôme Color Design eyeshadow palette in Aquatic Essence over Nash’s lids from lash to crease, then ran my beloved Wet N Wild MegaLiner Liquid Liner in Turquoise along her lashline, lifting up at the corners for a cool retro cat-eye. (Might I add this liner is just $3!?!)

I swirled cream blush (MAC Cream Colour Base in Virgin Isle) from the apples of Nash’s cheeks up towards her temples (right above the cheekbone contour) for added dimension and a pop of color.

We coated lashes in Lancôme Hypnôse.

Then coated lips in Maybelline Color Whisper in Coral Ambition.

And viola! The finished look!

As GORGEOUS as it is on Nash, we couldn’t stop there…

To show the versatility of these often-intimidating shades, we took our day face into night by building as you would if you were running from your office to a night on the town.

As you’ll see, in three simple steps (seriously, just three!), she is transformed.

THE NIGHT LOOK

I first blanked out the lips with concealer so we could go bolder on the eye.

Using our same Lancôme Color Design palette, I added the seafoam (from the inner corner to the center of the lid) and the aqua (from the outer corner to the center of the lid) and blended (at the place where they met) over what was already there. I also swept the aqua below the lower lashline from the outer corner inward to define and enhance the shape of Nash’s eyes.

I completed the night look with Maybelline Color Whisper in Go Nude on lips.

Behold the evening beauty!

WOWZERS. Does this girl gives good face or what?!

Let us know which look you prefer – or if you’re ready to pack up your blues and greens and get into Fall trends already.
