I’m no nail guru, but let’s be honest, nail polish brand does matter.
I try my best to steer clear of $2 polishes at Forever21, as well as Sinful Colors or NYC, thanks to past experience. Instead I stay within my comfort zone of OPI, because I’ve consistently gotten a great mani out of it.
Well just last week, I was going out with some girlfriends, and I became super paranoid that my nails were bare. Rather than grab my trusty go-to, I instead snatched up a bottle of SpaRitual in “Energy” that LDiva had given me. It was a bit of a beauty risk, as the brand was totally foreign to me and due to my time constraint I wouldn’t have time to change it if I hated the quality, finish or shade.
As they say, no risk, no reward.
I was actually amazed with the results…
First, the design of the bottle is so interesting and sleek. SpaRitual keeps us at-home manicurists in mind when it comes to keeping a steady hand and control of the brush, since the rubber bottle cap has tiny ridges embedded in it for a non-slip grip. This may not seem life-changing, but if you too are challenged with a shaky left hand, you’ll totally understand.
Next, the color is absolutely GORGEOUS. You can never go wrong with pastels, especially with sun-kissed skin and a summer wardrobe. This shade is a milky blue creme color, and actually appears a bit brighter painted on compared to its appearance inside the bottle. I fell in love at first third sight after applying 3 coats (yes, the formula is a tad sheer, so 3 was necessary for full color payoff). I actually told myself, “This is the new mint green!” Energy is a perfect pop of color for any outfit, but soft and subtle enough to be more pretty than bold.
Finally, no top coat was needed. You may not believe this, but my mani stayed looking exactly the same for 4 days straight!!! That’s literally a record for me. I was so surprised at how well the polish lasted and how chip-resistant it was.
Added bonus! SpaRituals nail lacquer is 100% vegan and is also formulated without parabens, sulfates, GMOs, petrochemicals, and synthetic fragrances. So for all you animal-loving, eco-conscious divas out there, this polish passes the test!
Stepping out of my comfort zone wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
