Braids are not my specialty. The extent of my braiding talents is pretty much just a side braid – no fishtails, frenches, etc. And even then, there’s always a 1/10 chance that I’ll perfect it in one try. AND it’s not like we’re dealing with rocket science here, but as in beauty and everything else in life, not all things come naturally easy to everyone – which is why Redken’s Braid Aid 03 is something I’ve been missing out on!
Even though when I first got it for testing, I had minimal expectations on how it could be special or different than any other hair product that smoothed.
Let’s just say my expectations were wildly exceeded.
In a nutshell, Redken’s Braid Aid 03 is a defining hair lotion that helps make hair smoother and easier to work with when braiding. Most importantly, it helps eliminate frizziness and adds grip, allowing hair to be extremely manageable for a quick ‘do in 3 easy steps.
1. Squeeze out a quarter-sized amount (more or less depending on how much hair you have).
2. Massage it into your strands. I only applied it to the lower half of my hair, but depending on the type of braid you are doing, you can do an all-over application.
3. Braid away!
I was actually super impressed with how my braid came out, which I did all in one try. Even better, I used my fingers to comb through my hair versus a real brush. #SOSIMPLE.
