“W” marks the spot, literally, as it held the runway shows for SWIMMIAMI 2017. Designers, bloggers, editors, media and buyers flocked to South Beach, Miami to take in presentations and runway shows to view the 2017 swimwear collections. Look out for lots of crochet and high cuts next season!
SWIMMIAMI kicked-off with an opening party on July 14, 2016 at W South Beach and runway shows were held from Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 17. The schedule featured over 13 shows from swimwear’s hottest designers including Filthy Haanz, Frankie’s Bikinis, Gottex, Hot as Hell, Indah, Issa de’ Mar, KAOHS, Lybethras, Mint Swim, Myra Swim, Revel Rey and San Lorenzo Bikinis.
One of my favorite shows of the weekend was by the Cali based designers Tess Hamilton and Ali Hoffmann’s swimwear company KAOHS. Simple earth and jewel toned suits paired with gorgeous highlighted skin provided by Stila Cosmetics. Poolside perfection!
Another fave was Baes and Bikinis by 20 year designer, Stephanie Princi, who provided an unreal show that showcased her Malibu inspired crocheted designs and some gorgeous tanned models like Ava Sambora, daughter of rocker Richie Sambora and mom Heather Locklear.
Snapchat was ready for SWIMMIAMI as well with all of its fun filters like these from the Mia Marcelle presentation.
The weekend was a whirlwind of fashion shows, events, and dining…a must do for anyone in the industry who loves beauty and design!
XOXO
