This is something I’ve been wanting to do for some time. As we formally shelter in place in NYC, this project brings me happiness and a welcome break from the news. 🖤
Last year on Father’s Day I was a week shy of 6 months pregnant. I asked my dad today if being a grandfather was what he imagined it would be a year ago. He said no.
I asked him how it was different, and he just looked at my son and beamed from ear to ear for a long moment. And then he said something really nice after he collected his thoughts.
But as I lay down to go to bed now I can only remember his big smile.
