DAILY DIVA: Sophia Loren CB-style

DAILY DIVA: Sophia Loren CB-style

Our very own Christina Bambina has long loved this image of Sophia Loren in a floral shantung silk headscarf. Something about the exotic graphic eye balanced by the barely-there lip and garden cues that captivates. Inspired by the photo, she picked up a similar scarf and came over for some DIVAlicious makeup magic.

A bombshell in her own right, we tweaked the look for Christina’s features while capturing the effect of the original picture.

And would you believe, we did it in 7 SIMPLE STEPS.

SEVEN?!

Believe it!

# 1. EVEN SKIN

I mixed YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation in BD50 with Josie Maran Argan Face Illuminator for that mesmerizing glow. (Was elated to find that two of my most favorite products EVER combine to create such a gorgeous superproduct.)

# 2. CONCEAL IMPERFECTIONS

I used IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer around the eyes and over any small imperfections, pressing it into Christina’s skin to maintain its lushness.

# 3. CONTOUR

For subtle definition, I swept MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Deep under Christina’s cheekbones, along her jawline and hairline plus down the sides of her nose. (The soft radiance of this product didn’t detract from the luminous finish of the base makeup the way a matte product would have.)

#4. SET

I dusted the T-zone with IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores.

#5. INTENSIFY

I applied a light wash of Estee Lauder Pure Color Gelée Powder Eyeshadow in Lights Out over the eyelid from lashline to crease, then swept Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Chestnut through the crease and finally MAC Eyeshadow in Nylon onto the browbone and around the inner corner.

#6. LINE

Using the edge of my business card to create sharp lines, I ran Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Gel Liner in Blackest Black along the upper and lower lashlines extending out to create the graphic shape.

#7. LAQUER

Coat lips in your palest pink and soften edges with a clean cotton swab. I mixed Pink Holiday Lipstick in Rialto Romance with a touch of clear gloss.

And… viola!!

Our very own Italian garden goddess.
