THE DISH WITH DDR: Beach Bag Buys

THE DISH WITH DDR: Beach Bag Buys

Summer is quickly approaching which means warm, sunny beach days ahead. What better way to start getting excited than to prep your beach bag?!

Check out some of my fave must-have items…

1. SPF 30 Unscented Matte Tint by Coola

I love this brand because they have consciously chosen to develop products that use ingredients that are organic, sustainable and locally sourced.  Green, yet still luxe, all of the products will protect and nourish your skin with vitamins, natural-protectors, and antioxidant-infused and age-defying antioxidants. What more can you ask for, for your precious skin?! Oh, and they come in different tints so you can also get a little light coverage as well. Bonus!

2. A Cute Summer Hat

Wearing a hat is a good start to protecting your precious locks. Look for one that is tightly woven to ensure minimal sun seeps through!  My fave type of hat for summer beach days is a raffia fedora.  Check out shopbop.com for more cute styles!

3. Water!

It’s so important to always keep your body and skin hydrated, but especially in hot temperatures! I love this eco-friendly, reusable, lightweight, leak-proof colorful 20 ounce Sigg Water Bottle!

4. Sun Care Protective Hair Veil

Before you throw on that fedora or go for a swim, give your strands a blast of Aveda’s lightweight, water-resistant UV defense mist.  This will help protect hair from any sun exposure for up to 16 hours!!!!! And if you have colored or treated hair this product will minimize fadage, damage and dryness. This fab product contains an anti-oxidizing blend of green tea extract, certified organic sunflower seed oil, shea butter, coconut oil and vitamin E to help protect against free radicals while conditioning.  Perfect after a salty dip in the ocean!

5. Lip Care

Protect your pout with Bloom’s Daily Shield Lip Balm SPF 30+.   Bloom’s balm is free from preservatives and fragrance with the nourishing goodness of Macadamia Nut Oil, Vitamin E and Aloe Vera Oil for ultra-hydrating protection against the premature signs of ageing caused by everyday exposure to harmful UVA and UVB rays.  Adore!

6) A Good book!

Of course, you have to have a good read for the hours you’ll be lounging on the beach.  I like to scope out the NY Times Best Seller List and Oprah’s Book Club must-reads when I don’t have free time to peruse Barnes and Noble!  If you’re a beauty and wellness buff like myself check out this guide to Eat, Drink and Be Gorgeous!
