Birthday Blues. No, no it’s not what you think! I wasn’t sad on my birthday, although getting older doesn’t necessarily thrill me. I just thought I would try out one of my favorite looks — iridescent blue smoky eyes! You may have seen this look on the Jason Wu catwalk this season. [LDIVA NOTE: Ahemmm – basically put on the map by FLOTUS Michelle Obama!]
Now I love nothing more than a classic smoky eye, so this new spin on it was exciting!
And who else would I love more to do my birthday makeup than Ms. Lauren Cosenza herself?!
To start, Lauren dusted Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Lavender onto my lids from lashline to browbone, with emphasis in the crease.
She then patted MAC ‘s spongey Electric Cool Eyeshadow in Switch to Blue from lashline to crease and wrapped the eye in this saturated color by lining my lower lash line with it as well, connecting at the corners. The dazzling, iridescent blue hue is stunning!
To make my brown eyes pop even more, Lauren coated my lashes with Maybelline Great Lash Limited Edition Mascara in Blink of Blue.
Of course, to keep the focus on the eyes, Lauren created flawless, dewy skin using Covergirl & Olay Total Rehab, which is a perfect mix of moisture and tint to get the coverage and glow you desire. She also lightly tapped Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush in Fresh Pink on to the apples of my cheeks. Finally, Lauren kept the lips simple (and the overall look chic) with a sheer pink called Wish from Victoria’s Secret Color Drama collection.
After my striking makeover, there was no way I could feel blue about anything!
