Our very own DIVALICIOUS CONTRIBUTOR Denise Del Russo recently glammed up her sister Dawn for an Oscar Red Carpet discussion for Hollywood Life with ENT TV.
We got her all-access step-by-step on to how to recreate the sultry look here!
To start I applied MAC Painterly Paint Pot as an eye shadow primer. It’s good to use a primer to get the most vibrant color out of your shadow and also to make it last for hours.
For Dawn’s eyes I used the VS eye shadow quad in Sultry. This quad is amazing because it literally tells you exactly what colors to use and where to use them on the diagram and also stamped onto the shades. Pretty fool-proof. Plus, the silky shimmery shadows can be worn alone or blended together. For a more dramatic party look I placed the silvery gold taupe shadow labeled “base” from the lash line to the crease. Then, to add more depth I added the cappuccino color stamped “lid” over the “base.” The “crease” shadow, a dark gold-leaf shade, was applied in the crease, outer corners and slightly blended to contour the eyes. To really “make” the eyes, I applied VS Creamy Eye Liner in Dark Chocolate as close to the lash line as possible, from inner corner to outer corner. The liner slipped on so smoothly and was easily smudgeable for the smoky look. Finally, I used the champagne “high light” shadow on the brow bone and inner corners to brighten up the eyes a bit.
For Dawn’s brows, I lightly filled in with Tinted Brow Gel by Anastasia Beverly Hills in Espresso.
To complement the eye, I gave Dawn pink flushed cheeks using Super Orgasm by NARS and to warm up her skin I added a touch of VS Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Glowing using a fluffy powder brush.
To finish the look, I was sooooo excited to use Lorac’s (new for spring 2012!) Lips with Benefits lipgloss in Alex. What I love so much about this lipgloss is that it’s good for you too! This unique, hydrating formula is paraben-free and infused with antioxidants like Acai Berry, Pomegranate Extract and Vitamin C & E to help nourish and protect your pout. The one-of-a-kind, swirling striped hue gives high shine and bold sexy color – perfect for Oscar night or any party!
