Gave our own Michelle Weiss an Audrey makeover and it’s retro glam to the nines!!
The key to Audrey-inspired makeup is nailing her three signature features and leaving everything else bare yet flawless. Audrey’s look is all about:
- Strong brows
- Full red lips
- That iconic cat eye
So here’s what we used on each feature to recreate the beauty look for Michelle.
BROWS
This is a strong and angular brow so I used both a pencil to create the shape (Shoba Brow Pencil in Earth for Brunettes) and a powder to fill in (Anastasia Brow Powder Duo in Ebony).
LIPS
The Audrey lip is a highly pigmented red and the sole pop of color on her face. Using a precision lipbrush, I applied MAC’s Ruby Woo (an iconic shade for an iconic look!) on Michelle for both it’s matte finish and beloved rich shade.
NOTE: If Michelle were going to a costume party versus using Audrey as beauty inspiration, I would also extend the color on the top lip beyond the natural lipline at each corner. A very Audrey touch that might not translate for everyday wear.
EYES
For the inspiration shots we used, there was a soft black shadow rimming the eyes in addition to the signature cat-eye liner. I used MAC Carbon to create that soft effect followed by Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black. We finished the eyes with two coats of Maybelline Volum’ Express The Rocket Washable Mascara in Blackest Black.
And viola! We’ve got a screen siren on our hands ;)
This was such a fun look to wear! I’ve used the Ruby Woo lip shade multiple times now for daytime wear – and usually find myself pairing it with a strip of black eyeliner for the eyes. I guess I can’t help but channel Audrey when it comes to that lipstick!
