Daily Diva: Sheer Bliss

Daily Diva: Sheer Bliss

Summer Makeup. It can be sheer bliss. And by that I mean super light and super simple but still super feminine.

My 3 Step Go-To Formula

1. Stained Cheeks

2. Tinted Lips

3. Waterproof Mascara

This goes on top of whatever your summer base makeup is and, of course, your SPF. I’ve been using (and LOVING) the Supergoop CC Cream SPF 35 for day and, for evening, my beloved YSL Le Teint Touche Èclat. In the pic above, I’m wearing the YSL in BD60. Plus, these 3 ALL-TIME FAVE items:

MAC CREAM COLOR BASE in TINKLED PINK on cheeks

BODYOGRAPHY ELECTRIC LIP SLIDE in CHEEKY BABY on lips

LANCÔME HYPNÔSE STAR WATERPROOF MASCARA on lashes

For both the lips and cheeks, I pressed product on using my fingertips. I use the word press over the word pat because you really want to fuse the color into skin for a stained effect (versus having the product sit on top of skin and look “makeup-y”). I actually press and roll my fingers as you would a makeup sponge to get the most natural results.

Give it a try and let me know how you like it. And, of course, feel free to share your summer beauty secrets (after all, sharing is caring!).

I like this look for the summer.  What shade would suggest for lips and cheeks for me?

For you, Rosycruise, I’d say MAC cream color base in Hush on lips and cheeks. It’s peachy. Press it on with your fingers to lips and cheeks for a pretty flushed look. I also really like the Josie Maran cream blush products for this and of course women love the NARS Multiples products for this effect. XOLC

As you can see I went to MAC and stocked up on my new color palette, peach! I couldn’t pull up your post so went with what the makeup artist recommended: two lipsticks, two cream blushes, one lipliner, one wet/dry bush to apply the blushes, and one combo brow pencil and brush.  Thanks for the info.

Great picks, Rosy! And I love the duo-fibre brushes from MAC. A pro kit staple of mine :)

Love this 3 step makeup application.  Only thing is not sure the pinks work for my skin color.  What do you suggest?  I have olive toned skin.

Vanessa, you can absolutely do these pinks with olive skin! You could also do a bright coral. The thing with tints and stains is that you control the saturation of color so you can add just as much as you feel comfortable with. That’s the beauty of them!

Come by sometime! I’m happy to show you in person and we can add some follow-up pics here to the comments section… Let me know.
