Saw this adorable and seemingly simple lip trick while doing a google image search for something totally unrelated. Funny how that world wide web works!

It’s from Divine Caroline and shows how to create fuller lips with a center ombre technique. Well… why not test the method on equally adorable new intern Marlena, giving it a bit of a DIVAlicious spin of course??

Here she is with just a touch of coverage via Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal in Tan.

We prepped Marlena’s lips with L’Oreal Colour Riche Le Gloss in Naturally Nude (clear). NOTE: The last thing you want when drawing attention to the lips is scaly or chapped skin. So always start with a soft supple pout. Even exfoliate lips prior if necessary.

Next, we applied NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to the center of Marlena’s lips and Votre Vu Drawmatic Lip Liner in Sizzle to the corners. Both shades were more dramatic than the inspiration visual and our choices were well worth it. See below! Can you say SEXY?! It was seriously challenging taking this shot to capture it because it was so hard to keep a straight face.

Then we calmed down and blended the edges of the two (just where the two shades met), and finished with a swipe of Estee Lauder lipgloss.

VERDICT: The technique totally works and can be as subtle or dramatic as you like. AND it is as easy as it looks. There’s no sneaky behind the scenes steps or fake photoshopped results — as is sometimes the case with these online tutorials.
