InternDIVA: Dermablend SkinPerfector Blemish and Oil-Clearing Primer

Putting on foundation during the warmer months is always a challenge. As if half my face melting off isn’t enough, my combo skin isn’t necessarily the best out there to begin with. With occasional red blotches, dry spots, countless pores and breakouts, my skin is never smooth enough for a flawless application. So having a great primer is essential!

My trouble with primers, however, is that they leave me feeling oily – even if they are oil-free. I feel like I have product on my face. And products shouldn’t feel layered on. Trust me, I absolutely adore my Benefit POREfessional – it is a true master at hiding pores, and makes my skin feel silky smooth. But unfortunately, it still doesn’t do much for my acne.

I recently had the chance to test Dermablend SkinPerfector Blemish and Oil-Clearing Primer. According to the packaging, it “clears acne imperfections and helps prevent new ones from forming. Unclogs and tightens pores, eliminates shine, soothes and purifies skin” – and it does all it claims to do. It leaves the skin feeling completely smooth and lightweight; it almost soaks right into the skin. It also hides pores beautifully.

Wow.

The best thing about this product, however, is that it has great long-term effects. I struggle with acne scars and unexpected breakouts, but after using this product regularly 3-5 times a week under my BB cream, I’ve seen an improvement in the appearance of my skin. My scars have begun to clear out, and I’ve been getting less breakouts, especially in the more troubled areas of my face. It definitely proves itself as a Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment as well.

This Dermablend primer is the perfect fit for my needs, and turns out I’m in good company – Harper’s Bazaar recently named it one of the Best Makeup Primers of the Moment. And at the moment, it is exactly the IT primer for my summer beauty routine.
