Whenever a new brand arrives for review at DIVAlicious headquarters (now in the heart of Brooklyn!!!), I’m always the most skeptical. I try to research as much as I can about the brand and its products…but even then, I can’t really bring myself to trust a name that I am unfamiliar with.

So I need a little push to fall in love…who doesn’t?

The situation was the same with Doucce cosmetics’ Boombastic Lash Volumizer Mascara and Mineral Matt Lipstick. Yes, the packaging was sleek and lightweight. But you can’t win my heart over with just a good-looking exterior. It takes a little test run – a little show-me-what-you-got. 

And with help from LDiva, it ended up being more than just a test. 

I was a bit shy at first, but LDiva helped me regain my confidence by prepping my skin with MAC’s Face & Body foundation to give a subtle glow and sheer coverage. She then worked her magic with highlighters and blushes, and blended to professional perfection. I was finally ready for the products of the day. 

Mascara has truly become a staple in all of my beauty looks (even though it’s been absent in many recent runway trends). I’ve realized the big difference that a few quick coats can bring; it really completes the look. And Doucce’s Boombastic Lash Volumizer Mascara did just that. Other than the slight flaking that I usually get from most mascaras, it lasted all day. It defined my lashes and kept them at a perfect desired length. What more could a girl want from a mascara?

As for the Mineral Matt Lipstick, the shade in Wild Orchid perfectly complemented my cool skin tone, while maintaining its claims as a matte finish. Yes, there is a bit of a tug upon application – but its longevity made it all worth it. If a lipstick can stay on from breakfast to dinner on a busy Sunday, I have absolutely no complaints.

What more can I say…I have to confess, I’m in love with a brand I just met!
