Spring has yet to arrive here in New York City…but all the negative symptoms of my allergies have. For weeks I’ve been alternating between headaches, watery eyes, and a stuffy nose. And all that sneezing hasn’t helped either. So when LDiva asked me if I wanted to cover a beauty event for allergy-sufferers, I was on it.
Allergy Face was an event with Zyrtec and celebrity makeup artist Jamie Greenberg, providing “free one-on-one beauty makeovers to combat allergy-related beauty challenges like watery eyes and a red nose.”
Set up at the Benefit Cosmetics counter at Macy’s Herald Square, the Allergy Face display featured a menu of six different make-up looks to choose from, including one inspired by actress Debra Messing.
After a consultation with Jamie herself, she customized two of these looks for me by combining the bold brows and extra-dewy, highlighted skin of the “red carpet ready” with the bold lips of the “hollywood siren”. This combination allowed for less makeup on the eyes — perfect for when they get super watery mid-allergy season — and placed the focus on other key features, like perfectly pink lips! And of course, as always, Benefit + eyebrows did not disappoint…a perfect combo that called for a celebratory selfie session.
No pain, no gain.
Guess I have something to thank my allergies for!
