Liquid Lipsticks for Winter

Liquid Lipsticks for Winter

Divas, I present to you my diva arsenal of liquid lipsticks!

I have a lot more, but these were hand picked for winter.

Hopefully this post will help you find some colors and new brands you would like to try!

ColourPop is a fairly new cosmetics brand. They are labeled what some would call an “Instagram brand” – meaning they are only known in the world of social media. This is very true because Colourpop promotes itself heavily through social media and made its way to many through YouTube mega stars. I was very skeptical of trying this brand at first because  there was a lot of hype and I wasn’t sure if it was all true. What made me take the plunge was when I found out how affordable their products are. Their Liquid lipsticks are only $6.00, so why not?! The shades that I show below are Kapow, Lax and Limbo.

Kapow: Muted Grey Taupe

Kapow looks much darker on lighter complexions but on a  deeper skin tone such as mine it has a very subtle pink color to it which I love. I don’t have anything similar to it. To make it brown girl friendly, I lined my lips with MAC Chestnut lip liner.

Lax: Vampy Blackened Red

LAX  is a very beautiful deep red but I had to apply it a couple times to get it to this color. I would say this is a great dupe for my all time favorite Kat Von D’s Vampira Liquid lipstick for about $14 less.

Limbo: Deep Chocolate Brown

The 90’s made a comeback this year! And specifically the lip colors of the 90’s made a huge comeback, so colors such as brown and mauve  have been very popular. I’ve been loving  the look of a brown lip, especially on my deep skin tone— it is  a great nude color for me.

Overall, I do like Colourpop and if you’re a budget diva you will enjoy trying multiple colors without breaking the bank.

milani

Milani is one of my favorite affordable brands and I’m sure you’ve seen their products at your local drugstore. They recently came out with liquid lipsticks and I had to try them since I like many of their other products. The colors that I picked for winter are Embrace, Crush and Romance.

The Milani liquid lipsticks are $8 each, were originally limited-edition and were literally sold out everywhere! I had to go on a hunt to find the ones that I have in my collection now. Since their liquid lipsticks were so popular, Milani decided to make them a part of their permanent line. Yay!

I got great color payoff from each lipstick. It wears decently for 5-6 hours if I don’t eat. One of the cons is that the product does have a very strong vanilla smell to it, so if you don’t like fragranced cosmetics I wouldn’t recommend this. The wand also picks up a lot of product which makes you put on too much, so I would recommend just wiping off the excess product before applying so you don’t mess up your application.

I’ve raved about her liquid lipsticks before and her brand is still one of my favorites — I have no complaints. Her product isn’t very drying and they stay on forever. Her liquid lipstick Lolita was one of the trendiest lip colors this fall and will still be a great color for winter.

Check out this blog post for an in-depth review on Kat Von D’s `liquid lipsticks.

jeffree

Jeffree Star is an internet sensation that used his popularity to develop the now infamous instagram beauty brand Jeffree Star Cosmetics.  Jeffree’s line has every color under the rainbow! His lipsticks are priced at $18 each and I think sooo worth it. He has the best liquid lipsticks that I have tried so far. They have a very creamy feel initially and then dry completely matte. They are not drying at all and unlike with other brands I can get away with not wearing a lip primer with his product.

I have three lipsticks from his line but my go to color for winter is Dominatrix which shows up as a true deep brown on my skin tone.

Hope you divas enjoyed going through my collection. I can’t wait to start rocking these lip colors. Did you have a favorite? Let me know which one in the comment section!

See you soon divas!
