Pour Some Sugar on Me

Pour Some Sugar on Me

I don’t know about you, but I love me some honey. Blame it on my dating a Greek so-and-so and being introduced to the Fage combo, or the fact that I feel all Sophia Loren-Mediterranean-sexy when I check into the Spa a la Cucina (how dirty does that sound?), but there is something downright decadent about the way that stuff drips.

Especially when you’re naked.

Wait, what?

You heard me, folks. I’ll say it loud and proud. While you are all rocking your loofa’s and carefully pouring your gardenia-smelling body washes onto your fancy washcloths, I’m going all Cleopatra in my shower.

Now, I’m not going to get into specifics, but suffice it to say that mixing a little brown sugar and honey into your hands and then scrubbing with great enthusiasm while singing Shakira can get fabulously messy. The fact is that you can’t pre-mix the box of $1.99 brown sugar with the ooey gooey beauty product because you’ll just have sweet soup. What’s that gonna do when you need to scrub your bum? Nada, that’s what.

This means you need to have two containers on the ready and mix in real time.

I totally look just like this when I do it.

Here’s how to do it:

Fill a container with brown sugar.

Bring the honey bear into the bathroom.

Get thee into the shower.

Wash with a moisturizing body wash (I love Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash with Shea Butter)

Rinse like those hips don’t lie.

Mix the sugar and honey combo.

Scrub that pretty face (lightly and in circular motions) and then move downwards. Note that you may need to refill your supply so have the containers close by–not in–the shower.

Rock that rinse.

Cover thy new self with Olay Quench In-Shower Body Lotion.

It’s your party, rinse if you want to.

Step out into the world with some soft skin.

We shower together.

The Two Week Challenge, Here is What I Have Noticed:

– Significantly less blemishes (Honey works as an anti-acne treatment).

– Brighter Skin (a 2x a week face exfoliating session followed by my serums are brightening my days).

– A soft body. Well, soft skin over arms that train solely to beat the boys at pull-ups.

– Fewer wrinkles (but that might be due to less stress because I am singing daily duets with Alejandro Sanz).
