After applying make-up in the morning, by the middle of the day my eyeliner has migrated to the crease, not to mention smudged around the outer corner of my eye, and my eyeshadow has up and vanished. My foundation? It’s usually somewhat intact, but throughout the day the oils in my skin seep through and become super-obvious.
Plus, I recently received an e-mail about my senior pictures being scheduled in the evening after a long day of work. So I took it as the perfect opportunity to test the Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfecter and see how my make-up would hold up layered on top of it.
Now, I’m somewhat of a diva-in-training myself… I love makeup, but I’m still trying to find my niche in the sea of products and methods outside of my eyebrowpencil-eyeliner-mascara-blush routine. I’ve used primer in the past, but only for eyeshadow. And my previous experience was only mediocre. On a night out, my neutral smoky eye would still end up fading by the end of the evening.
I’m happy to report that this primer has answered my all of my primer prayers!
I used it as a base before applying my foundation and after applying my skincare. I used only 2 small drops to cover my entire face, as per LDiva’s advice, and that was really all I needed. What I liked most about this primer was its mattifying effect. With matte being a huge trend of the moment, that’s something I’ve been looking for in all of my products.
There was no fragrance and the texture wasn’t too liquidy, which I’ve found to be a problem in some of my previous eye primers. The Becca primer was creamy, and contrary to what I’ve heard about this specific primer, didn’t leave my skin at all dry or flaky. (I think proper skincare is important first, followed by applying just enough but not too much of the primer.)
I was more than pleased to discover that the primer worked wonders, and my make-up was fully intact for the next 8 hours.
This is what my make-up looked like right before leaving the office after a full day of work to take my pictures. Basically exactly what it looked like before leaving the house!
I absolutely love the matte base that this primer provides, and I would definitely suggest it for anyone looking for a quality primer whose skin also tends to become oily throughout the day.
I will definitely be using this product again in the future.. As in, tomorrow morning!
