We’ve all been there… searching for that perfect red lip to add some spice to a beauty look. But when it comes to lipstick, I personally can get overwhelmed by all the different factors that come into play — from shade, to texture, to how long it lasts. Seriously, a girl can get overwhelmed (and I know I can’t be the only one!).
Well the makeup gods have answered my prayers in the form of Jane Iredale PureMoist Lipstick in Margi.
Margi is the PureMoist line’s “true red” color, and the pigment is incredibly vivid. The picture on the website is a bit deceiving. At first glance, it seems to be a cooler shade with hints of berry, but when applied it’s totally different.
First things first - application. I must say, this is the only aspect of the lipstick that disappointed me. When first applying the color, it wasn’t very smooth. The actual stick got stuck rather than gliding over my lips. I decided to start over, this time prepping my lips first with my everyday lip balm before the lipstick (which is a step I actually do take whenever I put lipstick on), and the application was as smooth as butter!
Aside from the totally flattering shade of red, what I love most about the Jane Iredale PureMoist Lipstick is how long it lasts. I tested this lip look out on a busy day of Christmas shopping, and to my pleasant surprise it stayed on throughout the whole day. I reapplied only once just because I wanted to get the original fresh coat look back, but otherwise this lip color stayed put!
Another absolute pro about the PureMoist line products are the ingredients. With natural oil and fruit extracts, PureMoist leaves your lips feeling nourished as well as with a pleasant taste for those who, like myself, who find themselves accidentally licking their lipstick! Even when I rubbed my lips together, a habit of mine, my lips never felt chapped or dry to the point where I needed more lipstick or balm. In fact, they were pretty smooth!
Overall, I’m totally digging this lip color. It’s the perfect shade of bright red that can add some sass to any outfit, all the way from day to night.
Dare I say I’ve finally found my perfect red pout!
