The Lettuces: Come Fly With Me

The Lettuces: Come Fly With Me

NOTE: This post was originally published on Instagram. I am reposting and backdating it here as part of a historical series in order to preserve these meaningful memories and early motherhood thoughts and experiences in a way that is not tied to any social media platform. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for some time. As we formally shelter in place in NYC, this project brings me happiness and a welcome break from the news. 🖤

Come fly with me…

✈️💋

We just logged our 10th flight with the baby (he’s 17 months old but I’ll call him the baby til he’s 18 years) and we finally finalllly really got our groove.

🙏🏽🙌🏽

We’d like to thank puffy stickers in packs of 5 million, small board books that can but should not double as teethers, a variety of healthy snacks, some not healthy snacks, a big bottle of milk that passed TSA testing, the exact right seating arrangement, our super lightweight portable travel car seat, our incredibly compact yet durable overhead-sized collapsible stroller, our expertly packed diaper bag, a trusty roster of songs sung not too loud, all the fellow travelers who enjoyed and engaged with (and even clapped for!) our son, and of course God.

Because it was as smooth as could be and that is a true parenting miracle.

We did not have, or joke that we needed, adult beverages before, during or after this flight.

@SenorLettuce – we did it!!!!!

And Baby Lettuce, we love you more than anything and cannot wait for the next family adventure!!
