The Lettuces: Noise

The Lettuces: Noise

NOTE: This post was originally published on Instagram. I am reposting and backdating it here as part of a historical series in order to preserve these meaningful memories and early motherhood thoughts and experiences in a way that is not tied to any social media platform. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for some time. As we formally shelter in place in NYC, this project brings me happiness and a welcome break from the news. 🖤

Mama said there’ll be days like this.

The one thing that’s been consistent for me in the past 8 months of motherhood is all the noise.

All the well-intended as well as the judgmental and opinionated noise. All the conflicting information noise. All the middle of the night articles and apps on your phone noise. All the internal ‘am I making the right choices’ noise. So. Much. Noise.

And I don’t get many breaks, and you could say that’s by choice and I’m definitely not complaining, but when I do get a moment to myself it’s really important to quiet my mind. To take whatever information I need, let go of the rest. And tap into what’s right for me and my baby and my family.

💙
