Tips to Keep Skin Healthy This Summer

Tips to Keep Skin Healthy This Summer

Summer is in full swing and with the heat can come irritated skin issues like clogged pores, heat rash, itchy skin, hives, bug bites you name it!  Try my tips to keep your skin calm and clear.

Once or twice a week I use MyChelle’s Refining Sugar Cleanser, $18.75 (also found in WholeFoods) to exfoliate and condition my skin. Exfoliating is one of the best ways to get radiant, youthful looking skin. This cleanser is great because it is a natural glycolic acid and gentle enough to use daily, on the reg if you’d like to. This scrub – besides smelling of divine Vanilla extract – uses natural crystals from Cane Sugar to effectively clean out any impurities from your pores. It also has different levels of exfoliation determined by the amount of water used. You can either create a thick exfoliation level (with less water) or thinner level of exfoliation (add more water) depending on your needs. I love that! For a collagen boost and to reduce the appearance of wrinkles this cleanser has ingredients such as Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 and Crocus Chrysanthus Bulb Extract.

Once a week, I use the Clear Improvement Mask by Origins, $25 charcoal mask to fully clear my pores. The charcoal acts like a magnet to deep clean pores and rid your skin of environmental toxins. It’s best to layer this mask on your skin when it’s damp and then remove with a warm, damp washcloth. Leave on for 15 minutes and notice how refreshed your skin is!

To lock in moisture and soothe skin I spritz on Capri Clear, $19.99 before bed, before makeup application, when flying, any time my skin feels dry, irritated, itchy or if I just want to maintain moisture. This isn’t just any ‘ol spray-on moisturizer it is a formula that’s extracted from whole coconut oilwhich btw is the purest coco oil available. I honestly have nothing poor to say about this product. It’s perfect for calming most skin conditions like flaking, itching, redness, eczema…can even use it to hydrate your hair! It’s free of EVERYTHING!! Parabens, Preservatives, Fragrance, Gluten, Sulfates, Phthalates, Emulsifiers and a whole bunch of other unnecessary additives.

In addition to these tips, limit your sun exposure and up your H2O intake to really plump up your skin and keeping it looking and feeling fresh!

If you have any tips that you use to keep your skin healthy in the hot summer months I’d love to hear about them! Let me know in the comments!
