I am a firm believer that whatever it is that you love you should never stop learning. Even if you’ve done 5,000 smoky eyes, it’s still worthwhile to see how another pro does it from time to time. You may pick up a new trick or two. Are there new techniques? Better brushes? Different placement? Seasonal trends? Cool color stories? You have to stay fresh to be relevant.
So when MAC PRO offers its fall and spring master classes I always try to attend one or two.
Yesterday I went to Makeup Essentials with Frank V. He did a red lip look with a barely-there eye and a brown smoky eye look with a neutral lip. And he killed it. Both gorgeous!
I was so inspired by the red lip look that I went home (with my bags of new product!) and whipped out my own interpretation for a dinner at Hecho en Dumbo.
For a former nudist (in the lip arena), it was very empowering. Not to mention how many looks I got on the street. I guess a strong lip really is red hot.
