My latest skincare OBSESSION: teeny tiny capsules you can toss in a bag in a pinch and then twist open for use with a pinch.

I recently traveled for a week (5 business days) and in addition to a deluxe sample of day cream and night cream, brought JUST THE CONTENTS IN THE PHOTO ABOVE as my full skincare regimen. Talk about TSA-friendly.

It’s amazing to me that all the skincare benefits and quality ingredients you really need can be so portable and, stating the obvious here, SO CUTE.

Maybe too cute even for some, as I saw one site had to make a note that they are not edible and that you have to pinch and twist the stems to release the skincare inside. Guess they do sort of look candy-like??

Anyhooooo… what exactly do these little guys do?

The orange guys: LUMENE BRIGHT NOW VITAMIN C BEAUTY DROPS, $24 for 28 capsules

With special seed oils plus Vitamin C, these claim to boost radiance and brighten skin in just 28 days with 1x/day use. And since Vitamin C is known to lose its stability and efficacy when exposed to light and air, the capsule packaging actually best protects its active ingredient (unlike Vitamin C serums or creams housed in jars or containers). Kind of brilliant.

These I must note also feel like a dream, leaving a super soft, matte velvet finish. The effect is much like a pore-minimizing mattifying primer, making it a nice base for under makeup.

 The blue & grey guys: Rodan + Fields Redefine Night Renewing Serum, $90 for 60 capsules, and Rodan + Fields Redefine Lip Renewing Serum, $54 for 60 capsules (Note: to work directly with the R+F consultant who recommended these products for me, click HERE) 

The blue ones have a blend of peptides and retinol that aims to improve skin texture, pore size, firmness and appearance of wrinkles. I’ve tested these in the past and found they not only worked but didn’t leave my skin aggravated as some retinols do. They also have instant benefits like moisture restoring, which I definitely needed after a few days down south.

Now the grey ones are for lips but I also pat what’s left of them around my crow’s feet area. They are super emollient and replenishing and feel incredible, especially on lips that have been winter-weathered or sun-drenched. With peptides and antioxidants, they smooth lip texture and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. They also lock in moisture giving the appearance of supple fullness. Nothing not to love.

The pale pink and seafoam green guys: Elemis Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules, $110 for 30 day capsules and 30 night capsules

This anti-aging combo’s got you covered for day (pink) and night (green) with anti-oxidants that “physically repair the visible signs of aging and counteract the damaging effects of pollution, by sweeping clean your network of skin cells, ridding it of harmful toxins.” Used in tandem, they claim to dramatically renew skin elasticity and youthfulness.

These two scream luxury. They feel — and smell — unbelievable. Skin is ultra soft and smooth and fresh in seconds with these silky serums. And you’d think the small capsule wouldn’t contain much but there was enough in each for my face, neck and hands. Bigtime bonus!

I’m a firm believer that the best things come in small packages (at 5’0″ I kind of better be!) and these babies do not disappoint. If you’re heading out of town on a getaway, taking a day-trip, finding yourself on a long and dehydrating flight, not desiring to check a bag but unwilling to sacrifice your beauty routine, just looking to rid yourself of the guesswork of how much product to use in a single application, these guys will be your go-to guys. And I have a sneaking suspicion, you’ll get along famously.
