I recently got my hands on Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant/Anti-Persperant after being informed of its cult following.
Interesting.
While I of course like to smell good and while I don’t think underarm sweat is necessarily a hot look, before I had it in my possession I couldn’t fathom how deodorant could really get anyone all that excited.
I mean, I like the feel of the Dove deodorant I’ve been using most recently and I also can appreciate Mitchum’s commitment to banish white marks left by most brands.
But the deodorant category as a whole just doesn’t inspire me like many others in Beauty.
A lipstick, for example, can bring me joy and the opportunity for self-expression and glamour and straight up sex appeal.
Deodorant, well, it brings me nothing more than its function.
And then the product arrived at my desk.
Both a deodorant and anti-persperant, this DKNY Cashmere Mist solid stick is super silky and just glides on. And stays on and works. And although I don’t have sensitive skin, it’s gentle enough to be used immediately after shaving. And of course, it smells amazing.
The best part – it’s not an overpowering scent, it’s reallllllly light – so it doesn’t compete with my own signature scent. Of course, it’s best when paired with Cashmere Mist and I plan to layer it with Cashmere Mist Luxe on occasion this fall (the latest in the line-up, created in celebration of the scent’s 15 year incredible success story). But my signature fragrance and I have been going steady for years and years now. I may have flings here and there but we always get back together and I can’t have a scented deodorant come between us.
The DKNY team at Lauder did it right, no surprise.
I put DK Cashmere Mist deodorant on now every day after I shower and it immediately evokes my femininity. That’s really the best way I can put it. I feel like a girl.
I really do love it and can finally understand the buzz…. AND it conveniently also comes in a small travel-sized version for us fabulous jet-setters! LOVE!
