DIVA DOES: Color Smoky Eyes (aka Intern ColorBomb)

DIVA DOES: Color Smoky Eyes (aka Intern ColorBomb)

There’s a new intern in town, and what better way to welcome Kelsey Leiter to the DIVAlicious fam than to color-bomb her?!

Because neutrality can be so boring.

And while Kelsey loves beauty & fashion, I’m not sure a ombre green smoky eye is her everyday makeup go-to…

So I painted one on using an NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Sparkle Green and we paired it with some Maybelline Brow Drama brow gel in Blonde and the new limited edition Cle De Peau Extra Rich Lipstick in #111.

A perfect complement to her vibrant personality.

Here she is, DIVA-fied…
To recreate the look in just minutes, lay down the NYX green eye pencil using light, thin strokes in the inner corner and center of the eye and heavier, thicker strokes at the outer corner. Follow the same light-to-heavy intensity under the lower lashline. Then using a fluffy blending brush, buff the color on the eyelid keeping it mostly contained to below the crease. Blend the lower lashline color with a denser pencil brush. The effect should be a soft wash that gradually darkens at the outer corners (ombre, baby). Next, comb through brows with the Brow Drama wand and finally, coat lips in the Cle de Peau nude lipcolor.

Note: Keep your skin finish fresh and natural.

And now for a little Beauty Q&A with Kelsey, for the inquiring minds out there…

Favorite Color Cosmetics Product Right Now: My MAC Satin Viva Glam II and MAC Whirl Lip Pencil. It’s very Kylie and I’m obsessed with it.

Favorite Makeup Brand: I love NARS blushes and bronzers. But I also love [Urban Decay] Naked eye shadow palettes and their liquid foundation! I use the Naked 1, 2 & 3 palettes literally every day. The colors go on beautifully and all blend together so nicely.

Favorite Hair Product: I’ve been using Pureology for the last couple of weeks and I love the Curl Compelete Moisture Melt Mask. My hair looks much healthier and is much shinier every since I started using it. I also have a collection of scrunchies I use pretty much every day. If I’m at home, I have a scrunchie in my hair. Using scrunchies over normal hair ties helps prevent breakage.

Favorite Skincare Product: My favorite face masque is by Eminence Organic Skin Care. It’s called the Raspberry Pore Refining Masque and I use it once a week to help shrink the pores on my nose and chin. It smells incredible!

Favorite Fragrance: I’ve been wearing Princess by Vera Wang since eighth grade. It’s become my signature scent to the point where my friends notice if I wear something else.

A Beauty Trick You Swear By: Eyebrow threading. Eyebrows can literally change your entire face. I used to get them waxed but I always got small bumps above my eyebrows in the days after. I switched to threading and have never gone back. I love it!

Nude Lip Girl or Bold Lip Girl: This is a hard question for me because I love both! I love a good nude lip when I’m tan in the summer, but I love browns and dark reds during the winter. In high school I really only used nudes because that’s what I felt comfortable with, but now I like to experiment with different shades.

No Makeup Makeup or Kardashian Contour: I’d say I’m somewhere in between. I love a beautiful, full makeup look, but there’s nothing better than coming home at the end of the day and taking all your makeup off. The best part of not wearing makeup is being able to rub your eyes haha!

Beauty Icon: I wish I had Cara Delevingne’s eyebrows- they’re incredible. Also, Hayden Panettiere and Emma Robert’s makeup and skin on red carpets always looks flawless. Emma is classically stunning.

Style Icon: I love how put together Kristin Cavallari always looks. She dresses very simply but always looks great. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also has an effortless style that always looks amazing. For more everyday, city style I love Kylie Jener’s looks. She looks grunge-chic all the time.

Stay tuned for more from Intern Kelsey!!
