As you may or may not have heard, Divalicious has made the move from Manhattan to Brooklyn and where Divalicious goes, Dudes Dish follows. I cannot express how awesome Brooklyn is from the food to the music to the beer. It’s the ideal place to live and the perfect new headquarters for Divalicious. That said, there are a few items that every dude will need when making a move to Brooklyn.
First item of business: a plaid shirt. If you got a few benjamins to spare, get yours at Gentry. Otherwise hit a vintage clothing store. They’re as plentiful as a Starbucks or Duane Reade in the city.
Next order. Men don’t pay other men to do work they are capable of doing. So whether you are mounting a canvas from a local street artist or putting together shelving, chances are you need a hammer. Add this beautiful piece of steel to your toolbox.
You’re in Brooklyn now. Everything old is new again, particularly with tech. 4K TV, bad. McIntosh audio system, good. Very good. Who cares if it costs more than mostly any other piece of electronic equipment out there, your vinyl will sound so good running through this system.
In the words of Jay Z, Brooklyn we go hard. Forget about a new watch. Balance a more relaxed and modern style with a classic. Pick up a Rolex Submariner that has withstood the test of time.
Finally, after a long day of hooking up all of the electronics, putting together furniture, and organizing closets, it’s time for a beer. But not any beer. A craft local brew. Sixpoint’s my call.
