GIVEAWAY! LA VITA LIBERATA

GIVEAWAY! LA VITA LIBERATA

I can’t lie. This giveaway comes with mixed emotions. I’ve been wanting to test out VITA LIBERATA since I first heard about it. Not only is it the top selling self-tanning brand in the UK, Sephora has now made shelf space for it. (And Sephora does not waste time or money without good reason!)

Vita Liberata offers mousses, gels and lotions in tinted and untinted formulas. They claim all products in the line are non-toxic, organic, quick-drying, odorless and lock in moisture. For a self-tanner, that’s quite an impressive package.

So when I was sent samples to review for the blog, I was more than intrigued and very ready to put on that mitt and get bombshell bronzed.

Except I was sent both the pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan and Warm Untinted Self Tan Lotion in light shades. And at my palest I’m still olive-skinned.

[Envision very sad face.]

Well my fair-skinned divas (or dudes), turns out my loss is your gain.

Because one lucky reader will win the following:

  • pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan in Fair: This product claims to give a longer lasting tan (up to 4 times longer than other self-tanners!) and fades natural (no splotchy patches or peeling). Retails for $54.
  • Warm Untinted Self Tan Lotion in Light: This product claims to be highly moisturizing and gives a natural, sunkissed tan for up to 7 days. Retails for $33.
  • Vita Liberata Tanning Mitt: This product claims to be reusable (with a simple rinse and dry) for a streak-less self-tanning application. Retails for $6.50.

TOTAL VALUE: $93.50

HOW TO ENTER?

Just leave a comment below with your thoughts on tanning, self-tanning and/or body bronzing. Hopes, fears, crazy experiences, past history, whatever you desire.

A winner will be picked at 6PM on Tuesday May 28th and mailed the goodies. The winner will also be sent an optional follow-up questionnaire for his or her opinion of the products to be featured in a review on the site!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend everyone! Wishing for real sun (and safe sunning).

I am all about trying new self tanners! Being on the pale side ;), I live for a natural sun kissed look…especially for the start of summer 2013!

I’m always looking for a great self-tanner that looks and smells good! Because I began in the journalism field as a health writer, I spent a lot of time researching and writing about skin cancer and tanning (and am very aware of the dangers). I think the use of sunscreen and safe tanning can never be emphasized enough – so I’m all about testing new lotions! Even though my skin is fair (but tans quickly), I try to be as safe as possible when it comes to achieving the perfect golden glow.

I wasn’t able to finish my comment….a 3 month old pulled me away :)  So, I’ve tried so many self tanners — I think I must try a new one every summer. Last summer I used Tan Towels and liked them a lot — natural looking color and limited streaking (of course, it’s all about the application ;-)). But I’m always interested in trying new ones, especially ones that are non-toxic and ones that I don’t have to worry about rubbing off on my little ones. The tanning mitt also sounds interesting  because I feel like I always end up with discolored hands no matter how careful I am with the application.

Having my scares with a melanoma and several basal cell carcinomas at a young age, I need to be extra careful in the sun. But I always love the look of a little color.

Thanks LDiva and VITA LIBERATA for learning about a new product!

Coincidence! Was just talking with my sis yesterday about how this is the the best new sunless tanner this season.  I have been all about staying out of the sun and applying sunless tanner to get that healthly glow. Hope I win!  ; – )

I am always looking for a great self tanner. Some would say I’m obsessed. In fact, my only bridezilla moment occurred when I was crazed over not being dark enough after being airbrushed. Ignoring advice from EVERYONE I begged my bff to spray me with Victoria’s Secret airbrush self tanner while in my wedding dress. Thank God she was a beauty expert who put on just the right amount to give me “jlo glow, not the Snooki look”
Living by the beach I love to sport the beach bronzed look but without the harmful effects of the sun! I have had a few precancerous cells removed and I’m very sensitive to the sun. I have truly tried everything…I’ve even had friends over to test the infomercial sensation Toma’s Tan Perfect. Would love to experiment with these products too!!!

The first time I tried Self tanner, I was on my way to the shore on my first weekend getaway with a new boyfriend I was dying to impress.  I sprayed, put on an all-white outfit (for contrast, natch) and then caught a whiff of my, er, new scent on the way to meet him at Penn.  “No problem” I thought as I spritzed my Victoria’s Secret spray too many times.  We sat on the train (on which I lied and said I spilled the bottle) and 30 min later stepped out onto the platform. Sudden Rain.  Lots of it.  I was in white.  My tan was 2 hours old.  By minute five, I was a streaked oompa-loompa in a stained dress.  For the rest of the weekend?  I was in Jersey Shore stripes.  Did I mention I got the darkest spray?

What a giveaway! Thanks LDiva-Divalicious-and of course VITA LIBERATA! First, I must say I love the name of this brand!  Typically Italians are olive complexion and what name could possibly be better for a self-tanner than one with a subtle hint at the results you’ll have with the product use!

I am very eager to try this and look fwd to hearing the results from whomever wins this contest. I think we can all agree that with a tan comes a boost of confidence…tan is what we want, but not damage to our skin! That’s why I love self-tanners, but they are very tricky. I hate when people use ones that give them that streaky orange glow…not cute-total josie grossie-attention drawn for all the wrong reasons!

Excited to learn about this brand. UK’s top selling brand; it must be for a reason!!

This looks amazing! I’ve never been tan in my life…I always burn. fear of looking like a tomato has eternally left me without a tan and too scared to venture for a self-tan. Perhaps it is time for a try? :)

I need to win this! I’m pale (especially right now), but I love to be tan in the summer. I’m unhappy that it’s almost June, and I have no tan whatsoever right now. I’ll admit it, I used to use tanning beds in my 20s, but I quit because I was worried about cancer. I also tried spray tanning but didn’t really love it. The only way for me to get tan is with a good self tanner, and I don’t really have one I like at the moment. That’s why I really need to win this!!!! ;)

In my teens and 20’s I used to worship the sun.  Worship as in laying out on the blacktop of my house roof-with just baby oil on.  SPF what? Crazy, I know.  As I got older and wiser, I started practicing safe sunbathing techniques.  I always tanned beautifully with minimal, if at all, burning.  I just felt my best and healthiest with a tan. Don’t we all? Due to a recent autoimmune diagnosis, I now have a strong sensitivity to the sun.  I never experimented much with self-tanners b/c I never had to.  I would love to win these products and start now to achieve that healthy summer glow.

The sole reason why I’m always excited for summer season? The chance to lay under the sun and tan my skin away, along with being able to wear tanks and shorts to show off my bronzed complexion. Naturally, I have somewhat fair skin, but thanks to my dad’s genetics, I tan pretty easily. Just recently, I have been slowly investing in your typical $8 Banana boat tanning spray. Nonetheless, I have been skeptical about the protection and aftermath of my skin in the long run, and try to use it only for emergency situations. As for tanning salons, I am completely against it; it just seems so unnatural. And for spray tanning, ehh I still have yet to look into it and do some research.

Seeing how many American females age in today’s generation (thanks to our ever-growing addiction to tanning), I am actually trying to cut back on tanning under the sun. However, no one said that would be easy. I’ve never really looked into self-tanners, but depending on the scientific facts and the consequences I’d have to face post-tan, I would so be open to it, for sure! Whatever helps keep the UV rays away :)

Need a healthy glow without aging my skin. Never tried a self tanner because they often look too orangey and fake.
    Would love to try this!

Thrilled to announce Sarah Parada as the winner of this giveaway!

Please let us know how you like Vita Liberata, Sarah!! Given your history with melanoma and basal cell carcinomas, I’m hoping with these you can practice safe sun AND still be a bronzed bombshell. Yes we can have it all ;)

Thank you so much LC! So excited to try Vita Liberata — and I’ll definitely come back with a full report. I loved reading all the other comments, especially the self tanning fiasco in the rain — too funny!

I have been searching for great self tanner. I know it’s changed allot and no more orange from it which is what happened in high school years ago! lol Talk about bad… but now they have revamped the whole thing. I  am hoping to get tan in a bottle. My legs are white from shaving and the rest of me is olive tone. Face is fair and legs are just white lol. I know it would even me out and give me a chance to try it and tell all my friends. Thanks for the chance!
