InternDIVA: WEN Nourishing Mousse Review

InternDIVA: WEN Nourishing Mousse Review

Thanks to the Hair Gods, I have been “blessed” with fine, thin hair. Yes, it is great waking up and not having to turn on the blow dryer or straightener, but flat hair isn’t exactly something to rave about either. Unfortunately, hair products haven’t been my best friends over the years, as the ones that claim to add body and volume usually only talk the talk, not walk the walk. They can even weigh hair down. And if in one in a million years I do get lucky, forget anything about my hair looking or feeling healthy! For a while, I stopped believing in any “volumizing” hair product.

…Until I found WEN Nourishing Mousse

It was a game-changer.

This product comes in 2 sizes: 1.8 oz and 7.5 oz (as shown above), as well as 2 formulas: Pomegranate and Sweet Almond Mint (the latter used in this review).

To test it, I flipped my soaking wet hair (works best right after showering!) over and immediately applied 2 full pumps of the mousse, starting from the roots down to the ends. To encourage added volume, I lightly scrunched my hair at the same time. I then flipped my hair back over and applied 2 more pumps, which I’ll admit was more than enough needed for my chest-length hair. As I did this, I could instantly feel the mousse drying into my hair and gripping tight to my strands within seconds. Best of all, how did my hands feel after application? Residue-free! Shocker, right?

I skipped blow drying (which stems back to my fear of dry, brittle hair) and went au naturale. I gave my hair one last flip and, hard to believe, the results were instant!

Compared to my usual lifeless, pin-straight strands, I saw things never seen before after using a hair product on my own: body, shape and shine. My hair was silky and felt extremely healthy; no coarse ends around this joint!

I was hesitant to even pick up a comb to get rid of all the knots that resulted from tossing my hair, but after running just my fingers through, no such thing was necessary. Amazing.

On top of that, my hair came out exactly how I wanted it to — with super subtle waves and an all-time favorite tousled style reminiscent of a night out on the town.

As I review my life history of hair product experiences,  I can officially say that I am a WEN girl.

I mean, forget men, WEN Nourishing Mousse is what truly makes me feel like a natural woman!!

Great write-up, girl! I’ve been curious about WEN products for a while and think I’ll give the mousse a try, maybe in pomegranate! :)

I’ve seen a lot of Wen commercials and wondered if the hype was real. Thanks for the insightful review I’ll check these out.

Thanks Faiz and Ashley! I’ve heard so much buzz about WEN products, my mom even tells me that her friend spent about $150 on her gallon-sized WEN cleansing conditioner because it’s the only formula that works best for her. I used it again (as I have been almost everyday since I’ve tried it) and took a picture of the results:

This time I half blow-dried, half air-dried. Lots of scrunching necessary for my pin-straight hair, but it was totally worth it for the look I was going for! I’m sure if your hair is any thicker or curlier than mine, it’ll work just perfectly.

Hope WEN makes you as happy as it did for me! :)
