Lately Hollywood has been buzzing about new star on the rise Lupita Nyong’o.  And I’ve been gushing over her as well — she is gorg!  So, when I stumbled upon this amazing look on her, I had to recreate it for all the budget babes out there.

Lupita’s makeup artist Nick Barose seemed to focus on her brows and lips, so that’s what we will be focusing on as well — strong brows and bold lips.

Since we are being budget friendly, I went for products you can easily grab while running errands at CVS or Walmart.

Here’s your shopping list:

                                                              1. NYX Brow Pencil $ 3.95

                                                              2. NYC Blue Rose Lipstick $1.95

                                                              3. Revlon Violet Frenzy Lipstick $4.97

Let’s start with the brows. Lupita’s brows are perfect so I took my brow pencil and filled in my brows.  I made sure to use upwards stokes with the NYX pencil.  This mimics how my brows naturally grows.  It makes such a big difference!

Next up is lips!  The two lippie shades are very similar to Lupita’s but will not break the bank. I apply lipstick straight from the tube with two coats for extra pigmentation.I think the Revlon lipstick is a perfect match (although you can combine the shades as well if you like for a custom color) so here’s the final look for only $8.92. (AMEN TO THAT!)

See you soon beauties!

really loved this post! informative yet entertaining. I liked that you focused on getting Lupita’s look for less–she really is gorgeous. Plus I’m always in Walmart anyway, will def look for these brands in the beauty aisle!

Great first post, Trish!! That Revlon lipcolor is a perfect dupe!

I’m so happy I found your article for this look I’ve been trying to figure out what she did to look so good!!! Thanks for giving an affordable way to get the same look but do you think the same lip color will look just as good on someone whose skin is a little lighter than Lupita’s?
