Summer is all about the no-makeup makeup. It is a time of year to wear the least amount but still have flawless, glowing skin. I personally hate to wear anything heavy on my face when the days are hot and humid. Dense foundation just doesn’t feel good. So I hunted down 3 face products that are lightweight but also provide great coverage — and give great face.
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
As I’m sure many of you already know, BB creams are basically a combination of skincare + makeup in one step.This is Maybelline’s version. Which happens to be under 10 bucks.
Why I love: This BB cream is so light, yet creamy and can be applied with the ease of your fingertips. It claims to blur imperfections, even skin tone, brighten, smooth, hydrate, protect with SPF 30 and contain 0% oils or heavy ingredients. And it really does all that. Comes in five skin tones. Great for a beach day or afternoon BBQ!
Youngblood Natural Mineral Foundation
I use this mineral foundation almost every day in the summer. It’s a bit pricier ($42) but incredibly light and the buildable coverage and youthful glow it gives my skin is AH-MAZING.
Why I love: Mineral makeup provides rich color with natural pigments from the earth. It looks and feels great. A kabuki brush works well to easily buff on this mineral foundation that, PS, is available in 16 different shades (you’re sure to find your match!).
NOTE: Although minerals naturally provide sun protection, this foundation does not have added SPF, so it’s important to apply your desired SPF before the foundation.
Pixi Illuminating Tint & Conceal
This tinted moisturizer can be found at Target for $30 and is perfect for on-the-go with its two-in-one tinted moisturizer and concealer.
Why I love: This combo tube features a brightening, SPF 20, tinted moisturizer on one end and a full-coverage concealer on the other. So it’s more like a four-in-one for those summer days when you may need a little extra under the eyes or to spot conceal a sunspot or breakout. Four shades to choose from. Fab for day into night!
