DIVA DISH: Fashionism will pay you to shop

DIVA DISH: Fashionism will pay you to shop

Fashionism has launched and IT WILL PAY YOU TO SHOP. In cash. The online stores and boutiques you already shop.

As in, hold the phone. Can this actually be true?

If you’re a skeptic like me, or someone who just does not want another site or password to remember if the value isn’t truly there, read on…

Here’s a little back and forth with Fashionism Founder Amit Khera.

Amit, ps, is a former Ralph Lauren marketing executive who has held marketing roles in companies ranging from startups to publicly traded companies, where he acquired millions of customers, managed global teams, and scaled e-commerce businesses from scratch. His lastest endeavour Fashionism has already received press in WWD.

LC: What is Fashionism, twitter style (in 140 characters or less)?

AK: Fashionism is a site and browser extension, that gives you the latest promo codes, and pays you up 20% cash back on your online shopping.

LC: Personally the last thing I want (and think other women want) is another site to have to go to with another password to have to remember for online deals. How is Fashionism unique? What are its points of difference?

AK: Most of our shoppers are very busy women, and Fashionism is built with that in mind. The Fashionism browser extension for Firefox, Chrome & Safari is a button that sits in your toolbar. Add it once, and you are automatically notified of cash back offers & the latest promo codes at your favorite stores. Also, when you sign up, you can choose your favorite stores, and we’ll email you custom offers from those stores. No need to break from your usual routine! Just install the extension, and you’ll earn cash back at over 200 premium online stores!

LC: What brands and online retailers are already on board? And can you share some on your wish list of brands you are hoping to partner with in the future?

AK: We have a roster of brands we are really proud of, as we only work with the best. Some of our top sites right now include:

  • Adriano Goldschmeid
  • Agent Provocateur
  • Alexis Bittar
  • Bloomingdales
  • CC Skye
  • Free People
  • Giorgio Armani Beauty
  • Gilt Group
  • J Brand
  • Lancome
  • Moda Operandi
  • Narciso Rodriguez
  • Nars
  • Nordstrom (We’re giving 12% Cash back on all beauty and fragrance at Nordstrom. Brands include Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier & more)
  • Rue La La
  • Saks
  • Sephora
  • Shopbop
  • SpaceNK
  • Stila Cosmetics
  • Yves St Laurent Beauty

You can see a list of all stores here: http://www.fashionism.com/stores/

In terms of more brands, we have many who have contact us and want to be involved. However, we are taking it slow, and growing carefully. We want to make sure we can deliver the most value to both our members, and the stores we work with.

LC: What have been your best deals to date?

AK: Whatever deals our partner retailers have, you receive that deal, PLUS the cash back from us (plus any rewards you might get from your credit card). So, take the best deal out there, and add an additional up to 20% cash back. While our average cash back ranges from 7-10%, it goes as high as 20% when retailers want to push a certain category.

LC: Can you share a little about the philanthropy element of Fashionism?

AK: We are very proud that our partner brands have decided to help us give back. For every transaction booked through our site, we donate enough to Feeding America to provide one meal for an American in need.

LC: What most excites you about launching Fashionism?

AK: Delivering value. For our members, we reward them for discovering and shopping at our partner stores. For our brand partners, we deliver new customers. We are also launching a program for bloggers (who have real shoppers as readers) to make money off of the platform.

Soooo divas, there you have it!

May as well make some money back with all that holiday shopping you’re about to do…

My kind of giving back.

Seriously. And might I suggest someone to pay me to do other things I love… taking a spin class, drinking wine, painting faces…
